A waffle-weave cotton towel sized for a bench rather than for a beach — 16 by 40 inches, with a webbing loop so it hangs on a rack hook instead of sitting on the floor.
Waffle rather than terry because it dries in a fraction of the time and does not go sour in a bag overnight. It is less plush than a terry towel and that is the whole trade.

- 16in by 40in. Long enough to cover the pad of a standard flat bench end to end.
- How it ages
- Waffle cotton gets more absorbent for the first several washes as the finish comes off, then holds. The overlocked edge is the wear point; a loose thread there should be cut, not pulled.

Care
- Machine wash warm. Tumble dry is fine.
- No fabric softener — it blocks the weave and kills the absorbency.

Cautions
- Not plush. If you want a thick terry towel this is not it.
- Bone will stain from self-tan and from coloured pre-mixed drinks, permanently.
- Not a sauna or steam-room towel — it is too small to be useful for that.
