A 32oz double-walled stainless flask with the air pumped out from between the walls, a wide mouth that takes ice cubes, and a moulded carry loop in the lid.
It does not sweat. That is the practical difference between this and a single-wall bottle: nothing pools under it on a bench or in the bottom of a bag.
Powder-coated outside so it grips wet or dry, with a moulded base band that takes the impact when it goes over on a rubber floor - which it will.
The specification
Everything we know about this item, stated plainly. The same record is printed on the card in the box.
- Fit
- One size. 3.5in diameter, 10.4in tall including the lid. Too wide for most car cup holders - that is the cost of a mouth that takes ice.
- How it ages
- The powder coat is the wear item: expect chips at the base and around the threads within a year of ordinary gym use, and they are cosmetic. The silicone gasket is the part to replace - it hardens over a couple of years, and a hardened gasket is what starts a leak. The vacuum itself either works or it does not; if it ever sweats, the seal has failed and we will replace it.
- Composition
- 18/8 stainless steel, double wall, vacuum sealed; powder-coat exterior; polypropylene lid with a silicone gasket; moulded base band
- Colourways
- Black, Graphite
- Weight
- 430g empty. 32oz to the brim, 30oz with ice and the lid on.
- Made
- Formed and coated in China, gasket moulded in the same facility.
Care
- Hand wash only, warm water, bottle brush. Lid off to dry.
- NOT dishwasher safe - heat and detergent are what kill the vacuum seal.
- Do not use bleach or a scourer on the coat.
Cautions
- Not dishwasher safe. This is the one instruction people ignore and it voids the insulation.
- Not for carbonated drinks - pressure builds against a sealed lid.
- Do not freeze it and do not microwave it. It is a steel vacuum vessel.
- It holds heat as well as cold, so check before you drink from one someone else filled.
